LLDP / CDP — Link Layer Discovery
Protokolle für automatische Erkennung direkt verbundener Netzwerkgeräte.
LLDP (Link Layer Discovery Protocol, 802.1AB) ist der herstellerneutrale Standard für Layer-2-Nachbarschaftserkennung; Geräte senden periodisch Informationen (Hostname, Port, VLAN, Capability) an direkte Nachbarn. CDP (Cisco Discovery Protocol) ist Ciscos proprietäre Alternative mit identischer Funktion. Netzwerk-Management-Tools nutzen LLDP/CDP für automatische Topologie-Kartierung (Network Maps) und automatisiertes Konfigurationsmanagement.
