The Cisco MDS 9148S is a high-performance multilayer fabric Switch from the tried-and-tested MDS 9148 series, which has been specifically developed for demanding storage area networks in data centres and enterprise environments. With 48 ports and state-of-the-art 16 Gb Fibre Channel technology, this Switch enables efficient networking of storage systems with maximum bandwidth and minimum latency.
The Cisco MDS 9148S impresses with its compact 1U form factor combined with high port density, making it ideally suited to space-constrained data centre environments. The integrated SFP+ transceiver slots offer flexible connectivity options for different distances and fibre types. Thanks to the Cisco NX-OS platform, administrators benefit from comprehensive management functions, Virtual SANs and advanced diagnostic tools for reliable SAN operation. The non-port-side-exhaust cooling system also ensures optimal heat dissipation in modern hot-aisle/cold-aisle configurations.
