The Cisco Nexus 2248TP GE Fabric Extender is a scalable extension solution from the Nexus 2000 Series, designed specifically for modern data centre environments. As a fabric extender, the N2K-C2248TP-1GE expands the port capacity of Cisco Nexus parent Switches and enables simplified, centralised network management with reduced administrative overhead.
With 48 Gigabit Ethernet ports for server connectivity and four SFP+ uplink ports, this Fabric Extender offers high port density in a compact form factor. The FEX architecture allows the Cisco Nexus 2248TP to be operated as a remote line card, meaning that all configurations are carried out centrally via the parent Switch. This architecture minimises complexity and significantly reduces operating costs. The Nexus 2248TP also supports Virtual Port Channels, thereby ensuring high availability and redundancy for business-critical applications.
